tried running with windows 8 compatibility and adiministrator mode, no change. the 64bit version still works with those same settings.
ive been told that 32bit not working is an inherent windows 11 problem that likely nothing will ever be done about, unfortunately. still hoping a magic fix will be available someday.
Edit: issue not fixed, but no longer relevant. Speedrunning is now faster on steams current patch.
let me preface this by saying i need the 32 bit version for speedrunning reasons, the 64 bit version loses time to slight differences in windows popup behavior. i have also downloaded and installed both redistributables.
when i launch the game, the window is open on a black screen for less than half a second, and then closes instantly. no error messages. i happen to have the game on steam as well, and opting into the 32 bit beta there creates the exact same problem.
when launching the 64bit version from here, or the normal version from steam, the game runs perfectly fine.
i have tried uninstalling the 64bit redistributable and running the 32 bit version, but that didnt do anything. google tells me that windows 11 should have no problems running 32 bit programs, so i cant find any answers there either.
i speedran the game on the 32 bit version on my old pc (windows 10) for years with no issues, but my new pc does not cooperate.
is there anything i can do?
